860 Broadway, Union Square
Located at the iconic corner of Broadway and East 17th Street in Manhattan’s Union Square, 860 Broadway is a six-story historic commercial building originally constructed in 1884. Known for its rich architectural and cultural history, including time as Andy Warhol’s Factory, the building features elements of Beaux-Arts design and early 20th-century craftsmanship.
Walsh Engineering proudly performed restoration work that included the repair and preservation of the building’s ornamental cornice, the restoration of decorative limestone water tables, and comprehensivefaçade repairs in keeping with its historic character. This work was completed with sensitivity to its landmark status and in alignment with best practices in architectural preservation.
