575 Riverside Drive,
West Harlem
Riverside Drive is a six-story pre-war cooperative located in Upper Manhattan’s Hamilton Heights
neighborhood, featuring a classic early 20th-century façade composed of terracotta, limestone, and
masonry elements. Constructed in 1926, the building showcases traditional architectural details typical
of its era.
Walsh Engineering performed an extensive façade restoration that included parapet replacement,
terracotta arch rebuilding, cornice replacement, structural joist and slab repairs, and restoration or
replacement of over 170 terracotta units. Limestone repairs were also completed. Although the building
is not landmarked, all work was executed using historic preservation methods to preserve its
architectural character and ensure long-term structural integrity.
